The idea was discovered by chance. While working at a resturant, the uniform was tee shirts and Jessica was advised the do whatever she liked with them. Taking them at their word she proceeded to cut, alter, and embellish the tees. The transition was so noticeable that co-workers asked her to design their shirts. Soon customers sought out her designs - a business was born. In just a few months with a $600 sewing machine Jessica got rid of her couch and turned her home into a workshop. "I love that I am creating something that a girl somewhere will wear my clothes and love it and have fun." Using her artistic style Jessica creates one-of-a-kind designs that are unique. And while this fashionista is only begining, being just a few months in to production, she has big dreams to evolve in to a full clothing line. So is high fashion this fashionistas future? "I would love to! I get my inspiration from fashion photography in magazines." Jessica's designs are already featured in boutiques and art galleries in Washington and California. But for now the line consists of shirts, dresses, and seasonal items; Jessica has even extended to designing for celerbrities and famous bands. Prices range from $45 to $500, reasonable for an authentic piece. And it doesn't stop there. Custom work is also available. Bring your shirt to Jessica and she'll modify it while you are wearing it and design it to your own personal style.
So how does a 27-year old create her very own fashion line? Amition, Talent, and innovation with the simplest item - a tee shirt. Coming from a family of artist, Jessica always excelled at artistic projects. Able to take a few design classes and with a love for fashion she was uncertain which direction to go until working at a resturant with boring tee shirts as her uniform, she got inspired. What drew her to this style? "Risk. I identify with designs that take risks. I see fashion taking more risks and I like that. I hope to be apart of it. My vision for my line is to keep it simple, edgy, and sleek."
